Date Night. What Do I Wear?

I don’t know if I’m alone here or not but finding ‘date night’ outfits doesn’t come all that natural for me. Yes, I may be a stylist and yes, I have more clothes than what is probably considered healthy, but defining my flirty style is still a challenge.Since I’m hoping I’m not the only one with this struggle, here are a few tips that help express my personal style while still feeling confident and sexy.

Venue.

This is huge! You don’t want to be dressed like a prom queen when your going to the local café around the corner. I live in Seattle, so being realistic about the laid-back atmosphere is something I consider. Are you walking somewhere, biking, taking an Uber? Think about how comfortable you want to be in those killer stilettos or maybe opt out for a great sandal instead.

Color.

What a difference color can make with your complexion! It can add a little rosiness to your cheeks or completely wash you out. Personally, my go to pallets are pastels or gem tones. I know when I’m in these tones, I’ll have a subtle glow without having to freshen up my make up when coming straight from work or an event. The right color can be your secret weapon!

Silhouette.

This might be the most important of the three tips because if you pick something that you aren’t comfortable in, then forge it, game over. Pay attention to the cut of your favorite pieces in your closet. Why do you love them? Is it the way your top’s neckline shows off your collarbones, how your dress fits perfectly around your hips, or is your skirt the perfect length to show off your killer legs? When we wear pieces that highlight our favorite assets we feel more confident. This transfers over into a flirty attitude, which in turn helps us be more focused on what really matters, our date!
