Leopard. Day to Night

One of Fall’s hottest trends is animal print. You can see this trend everywhere right now! It’s on shoes, jewelry, shirts, dresses, pants, you name it, it’s there! I absolutely love this trend and tend to lean towards my favorite,  leopard. I’m especially ecstatic because this trend doesn’t discriminate, and is perfect for all women!

People often tell me they feel a loud print like leopard is too distracting to wear during the day. I couldn’t disagree more. Prints can act as a neutral piece if done right. During my ‘Day’ time look above, I complimented my favorite tulle skirt with a cozy sweater and tennis shoes. The skirt doesn’t stand out like it does when I pair it with my leather jacket. It simply blends in, pulling my otherwise drab look and adds some sass to it. If I paired it with a hot pink sweater, then yes, it would be loud but pairing with neutrals helps keep it at a lull.

Taking a look from day to night is also all about how you accessorize! It’s not always in the color choices, but in the shoes, handbag or accessories you select. A rule of thumb I swear by is, a larger bag for the day time (think about all the things you need at work!) and a small clutch during the night (ID, credit card & lipstick – check!). I also use a similar rule when selecting my jewelry. Bright colorful costume jewelry tends to be my go-to for evening and a basic stud or dainty necklace during the day. At night is really when I choose pieces that help take my neutral day look and spice it up for a more sexy and colorful approach.

No matter your personal style, there is a sweet and spicy side to every woman so my biggest tip is to play both up! Don’t get stuck in a routine, push yourself a little and you might just find your inner spirit animal!
