To say I love Mexico is an understatement, I more than love the county. The weather is out of this world, the terrain is show-stopping, the culture and people are incredible. Can we also agree that Mexican food is the best, how do you not love tacos?!

I’ve been going to this amazing country since I was in high school and have been fortunate to make at least one trip a year since. I’ve traveled all over but my absolute favorite destination is Tulum. When the opportunity arose for Jon and I to travel during my birthday, we booked our trip without hesitation. I wanted to share some special places we went and a little insight on our first vacation together as a couple.

Where we stayed

The Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya adults only resort was hands down the greatest resort we’ve ever stayed in Mexico. Not only is it gorgeous, but the entire experience made our trip. The service was impeccable with finishing touches and personalized happy birthday treats each night. The resort offered daily exercise classes,  pool entertainment and nightly entertainment. We were left with action packed days and lots of memories to treasure. While Jon sipped Piña coladas with a book poolside, I soaked up all the spa had to offer we were both utterly relaxed. The food selection and drink list also impressed the foodies in us.

What we did

Snorkeled with turtles and sting rays in Akumal. Had happy hour with a view in a palm tree

Swam in fresh water limestone caves called Cenotes. These other worldly caves were our favorite activity we experienced hands down.

Went back in time to explore the Mayan Ruins. Our trip wouldn’t have been complete without a dip in the private Caribbean beach under the Mayan Palace.

Ziplined over the jungle, rafted and swam in caves and almost totaled our dune buggy at Xplor

Our Tulum vacation was one we will never forget. The people were so humble and giving, it was a great reminder to spread love and kindness. I hope if you ever have the chance to visit this magical spot, you will love it as much as we do.  Happy travels!
